07/05/2012 Blithfield Reservoir

Today my friend and I decided to go birding at Blithfield Reservoir.  As we approached the causeway the air was filled with low flying Swifts, Swallows and House Martins with a few Sand Martins thrown in for good measure!  Even non-birders had stopped to admire the spectacle.  It was an amazing sight.
As we walked around the reservoir we saw- Tufted Duck, Little Grebe, Great crested Grebe, Coot, Moorhen, Black Swan, Mute Swan, Canada Geese, Pintail, Mallard, Crow, Reed Bunting, Cormorant, Mistle Thrush, Lapwing, Wood Pigeon, Lesser black-backed Gull, Oystercatcher, Pied Wagtail, Jackdaw, Magpie, Black-headed Gull, Greylag Geese, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Chiffchaff, Wren, Kestrel, Buzzard and Shelduck.
