15/06/2012 Cannock Chase in the rain

Although with the weather last night not being ideal to say the least! the three of us that turned up for an evenings Nightjar watching, did at least see 2 fly very close to us before disappearing in the trees.  We also had good views of Woodcocks and heard a Nightjar much earlier than usual in the evening.  But we weren't the only intrepid birders out in the rain and wind, if they had not gone when a large black cloud loomed overhead, they too would have had at least a brief view of the birds they had come to see.
